The organisation and preporation of each tour

The preparation and organisation is very extensive and involves lots of work. The drivers have to check that everything on the bus is working properly and in good condition. They also are in charge of keeping the bus clean and in order, and also the picking up and dropping off of the people. The drivers also are in charge of relocating the buses from place to place in between tours. The relocation can last for as little as 3 days, or as long as 2 weeks. The drivers, when relocating, can travel a maximum of 1000kilometers a day - they are not allowed to do any more than that.

The tour directors are in charge of the paperwork that comes with each tour. They have to make name badges, call each place the tour is staying at to make sure everything is sorted, organise seating arrangements for each day, make sure they know all the first aid requirements, have all of the qualifications, and know the information of each place the tour goes through and stays at. They also have to order all the food and equipment needed for each tour, as most of the places the tour goes to don't actually provide anything.

Reviews from customers

"We travelled on an organised tour through the Kimberley area with Outback Spirit in June 2012. This is a spectacular area to visit and while expensive it was worth every dollar.
While we would have liked to have done this in a 4WD campervan by ourselves we realized that with the huge distances to cover and lots of very rough roads and river fords to cross that a small tour was a good option. We have no regrets about this as we were incredibly well cared for by our great Outback Spirit bus driver/guide and the overall service provided by the company was excellent. Accomodation that was provided was A+ and meals were all included so only cost on the journey was for alcohol. The Bungle Bungles and Mitchell Falls were a real highlight of the tour.

"Just returned after a fantastic unforgettable adventure of a lifetime. We were lucky with the seasons reversed and rainfall 2 weeks before we left, showing all the landscaped greened, boabs with flowers. Organisation was so professional with timing, meals, accommodation, staff. To our caring friendly driver/guide Browny, a huge thankyou. We totally recommend Outback Spirit Tours to all. Well done."

"Just returned from Tassie. It has been approximately 20 years since we had been there. Thinks have changed. It was good to be able to do it with Outback Spirit this time. Dee & Robin were great. It took away all the hassles of booking everything ourselves. The trip went without a hassle and took us to some places we had not done before. Again, thanks Outback Spirit another great trip. Am looking forward to our next one."

As you can see, Outback Spirit Tours is an Australian touring company that people will happily reccommend to all of their friends and family members.

The impact on the evironment and the care of Outback Spirit

Outback Spirit works closely with the Indigenous people of the Australian outback by giving those who live in the remote communities of the outback employment opportunities, education resources and training. In recent years, this had involved the provisions of teachers in these communities, and a $190,000 donation for the Kandiwal Community on the Mitchell Plateau.
Outback Spirit are very eco-friendly. One example of the eco-friendliness Outback Spirit has is how the company has been helping to keep the Kimberly region’s ecosystem safe by donating to the Australian Wildlife Conservancy each year. The Australian Wildlife Conservancy is a non-profit committee with more than 1.5 million hectares of the Kimberly area under conservation. The two companies have been working together since 2007, making at least one major donation each year. This has helped the AWC as the money has assisted them with protecting all of Australia’s animals and their habitats. Another example of the eco-friendliness that Outback Spirit has shown is the Safari Camp on the Mitchell Plateau. Outback Spirit has invested around $500,000 into the Safari Camp’s waste water treatment and solar power generation. The Safari Camp on the Mitchell Plateau is light years ahead of most of the other camps in the Kimberley region.
